過去150年の労働環境の変遷 写真16枚
人間は古来より労働に従事してきましたが、産業革命以降、働き方は大きく変わりました。大量生産技術と資本主義により、少数の資本家と多数の労働者が生まれたのです。
21世紀の現代になっても、数え切れないほどの人々が不当な低賃金に耐え、限界まで働いています。それでも150年前に比べれば、少なくとも先進国では児童労働、劣悪な労働安全環境、奴隷労働の多くは過去のものになりつつあります。
この記事では、かつての悲しく非人間的な労働者の日常を映した写真をご紹介しましょう。

現代の感覚では想像もできない労働者たちの姿。この150年で人々の労働観や労働環境が大きく変化したことが分かります。そして、現代の私たちが享受している労働安全基準や労働環境規制は先人の血と汗の上に築かれていることを胸に刻みたいと思います。
ベーシックインカムの導入などを検討している国もあります。もしそうなったとき、私たちはどんな働き方を選択するのでしょうか。
