猫はかくれんぼの達人。
家にいるはずなのに突然行方をくらまし、家庭内行方不明になることも日常茶飯事。同居人の飼い主さんが必死に探そうが、それを嘲笑うように出てくる気配なし。数時間後に「あら？ずっとここにいたんですけどねぇ」とすました顔で登場することも多々あります。
猫は本来、狩猟能力が高く優秀なハンター。飼育されている家猫にもその本能はしっかり受け継がれており、獲物に見つからず接近できるよう、毛皮の模様にはカモフラージュ効果があります。
ごく自然に風景に溶け込み隠れる、その腕前はもはや「かくれんぼ師匠」と呼びたくなるほど。

「隠れている猫を探せ！」画像、あなたはいくつ分かりましたか？
雑でバレバレな隠れ方をする猫もいる一方で、ハイレベルな隠れ方をする猫のカモフラージュ能力の高さに驚かされ、改めて猫はかくれんぼの天才だと実感しました。ちなみに、難易度高めの画像に関しては、筆者は全くもって猫を発見することができませんでした。
