里親に引き取られて幸せになったワンコたち
ペットの数が子どもの数を上回るペット大国の日本。一方で、数え切れないほどの犬たちが飼育放棄され、家をなくしています。保健所や保護施設には捨てられたり、何らかの事情で家をなくした孤独な犬猫があふれており、処分もされているのが現実。
海外でも、ペットをめぐる問題を社会が抱えている点は同じ。でも里親制度がしっかりと確立しており、シェルターに保護された犬の多くが新しい飼い主に引き取られている国もあります。日本でも、もっと里親制度が普及すればいいですね。
